The Our Place in History Archive was created as part of Educational Service District 113's Teaching American History grant from 2006-2010, a partnership between ESD 113, The Evergreen State College, and Washington State University. Our Place in History (OPiH) was a professional development grant designed to improve U.S. history teacher content knowledge, by using local stories to inform U.S. history teaching. The OPiH Archive was built to provide local Washington state primary sources that would help middle and high school educators in southwest Washington use local examples for major themes in U.S. history.
